This popular rural care home sits on the edge of the Somerset levels on a long thin and sloping site presenting numerous challenges from a design perspective.

The innovative solution is to create a series of domestic scale blocks linked with lightweight structures to form one whole facility. Spaces between structures form communal landscaped amenity spaces and the form is built into the slope to maximise space and work with the existing topography.
